Default Comcast Motorola DCT3412 is Noisy

It sounds like a constantly running VCR tape recording. I spoke to comcast and the service person said they had the same problem and had to swap their box 3 times till they got one that was quiet. Anyone else have this problem. I am located in Detroit, MI

Is that a DVR box? If it is, its the hard drive. Its constantly running because its recording whats on TV, in case you have to Pause, or Rewind. If its not a DVR, than you have a problem. It shouldn't be a problem to just go to the Comcast office and trade it for another one. I live like a 3 minute drive from my Comcast office and I walk in and switch out equipment fairly often if I have problems.
