i have the motorola DCT6200 hd cable box with comcast cable. and i cant figure out a way to set up picture in picture. i tried to split the cable from the wall and have 1 line run to the hd box and the other to my tv but when i do that i lose picture quality on the hd channels. the hd channels start tileing. i also tried to run a cable line from the cable box to the tv but that line will only show the same channel that is running through the hd box. if anyone has any info that could help me i would greatly appreciate it. thanks.

Hmmm... Sounds like you are kinda in a bind there. They only way to get the PIP on the tv working would be to have 2 different inputs. If you want cable for both you would have to use a splitter. Unfortunately you said that it degrades the signal too much to use one. Sounds like you are stuck unless you can get them out there to get the signal a little be better for you.

You might try an amplifier that has two outputs. Available at Radio Shack.

You can do PIP with a splitter as long as you are using the correct splitter. You have to use the higher frequency bi-directional ones...usually in the 5-2000mhz range. The basic old standby 5-900 or 1000mhz will cause the HD to tile up and lose audio. Connect the high freq. splitter before the cable box and run one line to the box and the other to your tv pip input. Remember that you will only be able to get the basic channels through your tv's tuner unless it has an hd tuner.
