I just got Charter HD cable box a few months ago. The HD programs are UNBELIEVABLE! Charter in this area has 16 HD channels, and soon will add Discovery & TLC. Our Fox affilliate wants to be paid for their signal. I watched the Nascar Cup race on Fox, the picture was terrible. Then I watched to Nationwide race on ESPN, the difference was more than night & day!
I can get the local HD channels on my LCD HD tv, with just the basic cable hooked up. I can also get the channels in digital. I started punching numbers in and couldn't believe how many different numbers there were for one channel. I can also get the digital music channels on my basic hook up. The HD is an unbelievable picture quality. |

Had Charter HD for a year before I finally saved myself the extra money. I installed an inexpensive off-air antenna and saw a dramatic increase in the quality of my HD Locals. The selection/quality of the other HD channels just didn't justify the extra monthly expenditure. I would recommend the DirecTV or the good ole' fashioned terrestrial antenna.
