Default ComCast Cable Box Settings Question

I just received a HD Motorola 6200 from ComCast. (The cable guy was great by the way and left me a set of component video cables and a DVI/HDMI cable) The box is set to output 1080i and 480i. I asked him about the settings while he was here and he displayed the cable box options that allow you to change those settings. I was wondering if 720P might look better. Don't get me wrong it looks great already but I have to check.

Problem is I can't get the menu to display now. He appeared to use the remote but I can tell which button(s) he pressed. The Menu button brings up the usual ComCast menu and the Options button does nothing.

How do I get access to the internal cable box settings?

With TV power on & the STB input selected, turn off power to the STB & press 'menu' on the cable remote once. Press it again to exit after adjusting setting with cursor keys.

Your prefered setup will depend on the capabilities of your TV, please supply make & model for recommendations.

I had this problem earlier.

Press CABLE then POWER and tap the MENU until 'Hdsr' shows up. Press the arrow right to change to 1080p. Or arrow left for 480 or 720p. Comcast couldnt tell me that over the phone, and the Tech should have set that before he left.

Your box supports 1080P? I just got Comcast Premier last month. The highest resolution it supports is 1080i

http://www.comcast.com/corporate/cus...CRedirect=true

Start here and you should be able to find the manual and the codes that you need.
