After waiting a week for service I sat here all day waiting for the service tech.. I called Charter Cable to confirm that the tech. was coming and I was assured he would be here between 1-5PM. At 5:10PM I got a call from Charter Cable telling me that the tech. would be at my house in ten minutes. Two hours later I called Charter and they told me their techs., are done for the day. So I have spent this entire day wasted waiting for a Charter Cable tech., that never showed.
I have had several cable companies in a lot of states and I have never had this happen before. Charter Cable ranks as the worst cable company I have ever dealt with. BTW, Charter's channels up to channel 100 is the worst reception I have seen in thirty years and I was using rabbit ears at the time. My advice; if you have a choice between rabbit ears and Charter Cable, opt for the rabbit ears! |

I got rid of Charter Cable and had a OTA installed. Using a Samsung HD Tuner I am receiving all the network channels in HD. A plus side is the PBS stations which are also transmitting in HD. I am now receiving more HD channels than I had with Charter and it looks better and sounds better. It will take a few months to recover the cost of equipment but then it is about an $80 savings every month. I will rent dvd’s, but doing this will guarantee me a movie I want to see.
If you live in Hickory, Catawba County, NC I suggest you look into OTA HD. It works great, saves money, saves the aggravation of dealing with Charter Cable, and will only get better. |
