Comcast South Florida HDTV Scans Dups w/o Sound...Help!
I had my Sony Bravia LCD HDTV connected to an HD Comcast Cable Box with no problems. I just got an HD Panasonic Plasma and moved that to where the Sony was, so the Plasma is connected via the Box.
I took the Sony and connected it via straight coax cable in another room, reset the TV, scanned for signals, and have the following issue: 1. Many of the stations, especially local national TV stations (NBC, ABC, PBS, etc.) at the 'lower end' (channel 2, 4, etc.) do NOT have sound, only a picture. 2. Several stations are duplicated. 3. NBC is the only local national station that is duplicated. The lower channel has no sound. The higher one (over 100) does. 4. MANY stations are decimals. I have scanned 'Auto', which detects analog and digital stations with the above result. I also tried to scan just 'Digital', which eliminated the problem with duplicates, but I still did not get the local, national stations except NBC. Short of paying for ANOTHER box....we've 3 already in the house and that TV won't be used much....is there anything to fix this problem? Am I doing something wrong? Any assistance would be most appreciated. |

I have no idea why you are not getting sound.
There will be duplicate analog, and digital channels. Just live with it. Use the digital channels for best picture quality. The digital channels are the ones with decimals. Welcome to High Def Forum. |

I can live with the duplicates....I think!....but I am missing some of my local (national) stations' sound: CBS, ABC, FOX. (NBC's duplicate has sound). Any help to fix this?
