Default How to get cable to a projector

We recently downsized and got rid of our digital cable. I didn't plan this out right and now we have a media room with a great screen and projector, but we cannot watch TV. There is a cable connect where I had the cable. Our cable box had component out video which I ran to a receiver which then manages the projector.

What is the best way to get basic cable back in this room ?

You need to get a device that is able to tune standard cable. Pretty much any TV from the last 25 or so years can do that, but your projector probably doesn't have a tuner.
You have a few options. The best, imo, would be a PC with a tuner card. I have a haupaggue card in my HTPC, so I can get basic cable and HD locals via the PC. I can record DVR style, or watch live.
You could also go with a DVD recorder or even a VCR. Check the specs to be sure, but just about all of those will have cable tuners.
One last thing, you could check with you cable company. They should be able to get you an analogue tuner box. They will charge you to rent it, but it shouldn't be that much.

Thanks. I was concerned about the PC because of the noise. But it seems like a good options. If I do it right I suppose I could put MythBuntu on it too.

Also if you do it right you should be able to make the PC pretty much quiet. Look for a HTPC case as they are smaller and will look nicer with your other A/V equipment.
