Angry Why im i not getting HD channels on my Time Warner Cable Service?

well i ordered TWC from Manhattan. It was my only choice in my apartment building and DirecTV is too expensive. still waiting for FIOS. The dude came in today and installed the HD box and everything with HDMI. i am not getting Syfy channel in HD, plus those other good channels history HD, natgeo HD etc. Does anyone know why??? Or do i have to pay more for those other channels. This sucks.

I would imagine a call to them to turn on your HD channels may be necessary...or it may require that you subscribe to a higher tier of HD service (package).

HD is free under TWC. We don't have the best selection compared to services like DirecTV, but it's comparable. If you sign up for digital cable, you don't pay any extra for the HD channels. If you go to timewarnercable[dot]com and set your location in the upper right corner and then go to HDTV all the way at the bottom of the page, you can read all about HDTV. I would provide the link, but I haven't reached 5 posts yet.

Yea, unfortunately it comes down to licensing. If Time Warner, (or any other TV provider for that matter) doesn't have a channel in its lineup, it's because the provider doesn't have the license to provide that channel to its customers. That includes the HD versions of channels it may have in its regular lineup already.

Technically they are right. It's not the fault of your local division provider, because they can't control whether they can provide a certain channel. It's up to corporate Time Warner Cable to get the licensing.
