Mediacom/Motorola HD-DVR question

With the new Fall season of TV, I'm starting to run into problems where I can't start recording a couple minutes early because they conflict with a show ending right before it. If I start two programs at, say, exactly 8, will it record both shows still? I ran into this problem last week with The Office and Fringe recording (why couldn't they have left this on Tuesdays) both exactly at 8, and it seemed one did not start (and it just happened to be Fringe and I was angry). Was this just a bug? Or will this happen each and every week?

The shows should start on time. For movies I use a little extra, in case the movie does not start on time. As you have noticed, there is more likely to be one TV show right after another. Just set them on time, and it should work.
