Default Unbelievable - I can't find my Channel lineup

Okay, I'm really feeling frustrated at this point.

I have my 32" Samsung LCD with the internal digital/hd box.
I have comcast digital cable coming to this tv - no external box.

The channels I get are broadcast in SD 480, 720, 1080, etc...

The channel numbers are like:
2
2.1
2.3
3
and so on....

I keep looking for a channel lineup on line so I can remember that 106-208 is the 480i version of the Golf channel in LOW quality on channel 3 (example) - but can NOT find anything. BTW, Comcast cable in zip code 21221

Am I getting stupider by the moment? I'm sure my 14 yr old would agree

I don't have most of those channels, and then I also go much higher in the range - along with digi channels.

I like that site though, thanks again.

You need to get either a digital box or a cable card to map out the channels. Cable channels don't have virtual channels like broadcast channels so they will keep moving on you. For example, ESPN may come in at 146.7 at one point, and a few minutes later it'll come in on 178.2. Also, you'll be able to pick up other people's On Demand feeds, so if your neighbor orders an adult movie you run the risk of your 14-year-old seeing it as well. Also, most channels are encrypted so you need a box to get anything above Digital Starter.

You don't have an "internal digital/hd box", you have a QAM tuner that can find unencrypted digital channels, but not the other information on the cable like the guide.

You need their box to get that.

Thank you, DoctorCAD. I totally overlooked that detail.
