P&F USA also introduced a pair of second-generation 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray players and a 4K-upconvertng Blu-ray player, including the BDP7502 and BDP5502, both supporting native and upscaled 4K Ultra HD resolution output and support for HDR10 high dynamic range. The BDP7502 adds support for Dolby Vision HDR as well. The BDP7502 will play the first Dolby Vision Ultra HD Discs due later this year, following a planned software update. They’re joined by a new 4K upscaling Blu-ray player.

The Philips BDP7502 and BDP5502 play back native content at four times the resolution of regular Blu-ray players. The Philips BDP7502 (Spring, $299.99) is a Philips’ second-generation 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player offering Dolby Vision support in addition to HDR10 high dynamic range. It offers built-in HEVC and VP9 decoders for streaming Netflix and YouTube 4K content, 4K upscaling for non-4K sources, support for Dolby Audio and DTS-HD Master Audio surround sound, one HDMI 2.0a/HDCP 2.2 output supporting the latest HDR video metadata and one HDMI 1.4a output to supply audio to legacy AV receivers, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Ethernet and a USB Multimedia input.

The Philips BDP7502 has built-in HEVC and VP9 decoders to playback Netflix and YouTube 4K content. It also features 4K upscaling for non-4K sources. Supported surround sound formats include Dolby Audio and DTS-HD Master Audio. Connections include: HDMI 2.0a/HDCP 2.2 for HDR video output and HDMI 1.4 to provide audio output to legacy AV receivers, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Ethernet and USB Multimedia.

The Philips BDP5502 (Spring, $249.99) 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray is billed as a mainstream player with solid disc playback capabilities for people who already own Smart 4K Ultra HD TVs and want to enjoy the full potential of their 4K TV.
