Default DMP-BD60K vs DMP-BD60

Does anyone know the difference between these two players? The DMP-BD60K appears to be about $100.00 more than the DMP-BD60.

Thx!!

I dunno, I thought they were all the same. The main model being the BD60K. All others are variations in model # for different retailers like Walmart, Costco, etc.

I bought a BD60K at our local HHGregg last week for $229 + tax. Phenominal player, we really really like it. It's also rated #3 on the above link to the 10 Best Blu Ray Players.

I'd also like to know the answer to this question, as I just bought a DMP-BD60K off ebay for $189 shipped (brand new), and am awaiting it's arrival...

Does anyone know if color is a factor? I've seen some shots of the player that look all black, some shots that look all black with a thin horizontal silver stripe about half way down the face, and some shots that look black with the whole lower portion of the face being silver. Of course, all these shots may have actually been showing an all black player, with reflecting glossy light reading as silver portions... hard to tell.

Can someone who owns a "K" version chime in with the skinny on the actual color scheme? Kind of suck if I bought a silvery one, as I was looking for something all black...

They're black. But I didn't study the front cosmetics in detail either. The $189 units are more than likely refurbished, whether that's disclosed or not is up to the seller.

Thanks for settling the color question! The one I got for $189 shipped is definitely brand new, not refurbished. The seller has more... but I don't know the rules here regarding posting links to auctions. If anyone is interested, PM me and I'll pass along the info.

EDIT: Actually, anybody interested should give me a day or two to receive mine- I probably shouldn't recommend an eBay seller until I know they're good... not expecting any problems, but who knows... if I receive mine as-described and in a timely manner I'll definitely pass along the info...

It is Beach Camera on eBay (the same company as www.beachcamera.com) selling the BD60K for $189.95 with free shipping and they're new not refurbished.

That's a great deal too (albeit 95 cents more )... my guy seems to have sold out, and I'm still waiting on mine, hence the lack of a referral...

For 95 cents I'd go with the piece of mind given by buying from a well known respected national Authorized dealer.

FWIW my guy delivered flawlessly... I'm actually more likely to go with a smaller private eBay seller with 100% feedback rather than a giant national dealer... megastores and the like can be fine, but they are also a lot more prone to shipping lags, having out-of-stock items listed as in-stock, and having customer's CC info stolen from them (if they don't take PayPal) etc. etc...

Thought I'd bring this thread back because I'm still not sure what the difference is between these two players. I just purchased the DMP-BD60 from HHGregg and am spending the next 30 days or so to see if I can find any better prices so I can get them to price match down.

The retail prices I see seem to be:
DMP-BD60 - $250
DMP-BD60K - $200

The BD60 is all black.

I think it is just someone leaving off the "K" in the model name as the "K" stands for black color typically.

That's what I was guessing, but it seems to be a toss up on websites if the pictures are all black, or black top with a silver band on the bottom for both models.

if samsung does the same as they did with their 55K and 55 models...the only difference was that the 55k had the actual analog 5.1 jack outputs where as the 55 did not...should be the same on the 60k and 60....

I don't recall any Samsung 55 and 60 models but Panasonic DMP-BD55 had analog output with or without the K in the model number.
