Default LG BH100 firmware update

If there is anybody still here that owns the LG BH100, LG just recently made a firmware update available. I don't own it but I do own the follow up model, BH200, which needs firmware as well so I have been following the plight of this player hoping mine will come next.

Chris I'm also hoping the BH-200 get an upcoming update. Mine just took a crap since I got it late December the player will not finish in it's loading screen locking the whole unit up.
I'm having to send it in for repair...

After installing the last firmware update played tricks with my player causing it to not play any Blu-ray disc's. Had to reset the whole thing that only worked till this latest problem.

I hope LG gets your BH200 working properly. Did you receive the $75 check for BH200 owners? I still think the BH200 has potential but without firmware to improve the performance and stability, it is just that, potential, it sure isn't realized potential. The only hope I can offer is that I also own the LG BD300 which has gotten timely and well designed firmware updates and that player works great as far as I can tell.

The big BH200 firmware update is rumored to be coming this summer.

I don't believe I qualify for the $75 dollars because I just bought in December after Christmas.

Mine just won't finish it's load up cycle when I turn on the unit. Please wait is all I get...forever.

You should qualify. I will send you a PM with the information to request it.

Chris,

What's the story with this rebate? I purchased one of these a while ago and heard nothing about it. If you could pm me also I wouldn't mind an extra $75.

I sent a PM although I am not sure if the $75 offer is still good. It has now been indicated by an LG employee over at AVSForum, that the update to Profile 2.0 may become a reality in July. The lack of Profile 2.0 with the BH200 resulted in the payment since press releases from LG indicated it was possible for the player to be updated to Profile 2.0. There are more serious issues for both the BH100 and BH200 and since I own the BH200, I hope those issues are solved with the July update and was happy to take $75 instead of Profile 2.0 which I have never used yet on my PS3.

About a month ago I tried to watch the latest James Bond Blu Ray and it wouldn't play. I installed the latest update and everything seems to be working just fine now. Honestly I'm quite happy with the player. Thanks for the info.
