Of course, not all disks have Bonus View but you don't want to have keep going back in the user's menu to change it back again.
I'm quoting myself here as a point of clarification. Many were puzzled by the Bonus View logo after updating their 5000 with rev. 1.4.
Turns out, it can be defeated according to the following, although I have not had the opportunity to try it myself.

".... not sure if its been discussed but I've found a way with the remote to get rid of this (bonus view logo)...just need to hit info (on the cluster of button towards the bottom of the remote) with the movie playing..you should get the pop-up menu with the disc info...then hit menu once, the pop up menu will override the info menu...hit the menu button once more and it should just return to the movie w/o the "bonus view" logo..."

That's a good idea!

Should probably add something to it to give the box some "weight."

Save $100 when you buy a Blu-ray disc player together with four Blu-ray discs from Warner Home Video. Choose an eligible Blu-ray disc player and four eligible Blu-ray discs from the below list, and add them all to your Shopping Cart. At checkout, enter the code BLUWA100 to receive your discount. The offer is valid only for players and discs sold by Amazon.com. Rules and restrictions apply

You can get the Panasonic DMP-BD35K Player + 4 discs for as low as $201 shipped!

I picked up the DMP-35 and four Blu-Ray dvd's for a total of $230 shipped this evening. Unfortunately for me, Amazon has distribution centers in Kentucky so I was charged taxes...otherwise my total would have been closer to $215 for the blu-ray player and four movies.
Hooksta, ya hooked me!
Thank you so much for posting this deal, because of you, I have gone blue.

Looks like Junkie is gonna have a Blu Christmas also. I just couldn't pass up on that deal. Hopefully I should have mine buy Friday cause I opted to pay the 16 bucks for shipping instead of the free 5 to 9 shipping.

I just tried it and the Amazon cart told me the offer had not begun yet. Huh! The details clearly state the dates the offer is valid and it is valid today.

I'll try again tomorrow.
