Based on what I read at High Def Digest more players than the PS3 could play it, but our Samsung players can not.

At leas it's a recall rather then a firmware update. That will make it much quicker to be able to watch the thing. I am still somewhat hesitant of Bul-ray and it's sucess. I just hope that everything gets going smoothly so we can have a really successful HD product.

Agreed, but right now, it's the best thing going in HD that is within most everyone's reach.

I agree. i just get a little nervous. The only qualm that I have with the PD P1500 is that it has no analogue out. I don't have an HDMI receiver and I could use those outputs.

Ya I'll be looking for the BOGOS from now on. I preordered Iron Man and got Coverfield for free through Columbia House. We also got the Nightmare before Christmas when we picked up the BD-P1500. There are some good movies coming out but I think I may need to wait for Christmas. Buying an HDTV and Bluray plyare with in a month is rather pricey. And I already got three new bluray movies. When the wife says it's okay I'll be okay.

I agree bogos are the way to go, I just watched Iron man and for my first BD movie on the new Samsung it went pretty well with only one little hiccup about halfway through the movie but it was very quick. The true HD was fine on my Elite so no problems there. All in all I enjoyed it and as for the player I like it and I like the slick black look. It fits in nice with my HTR. I am so glad I waited and didn't get a ps3.

I haven;t had any problems so far. But I also haven't finished a bluray movie yet. I watched plenty of SD's on it and have had no problems so far. I'm waiting for Iron Man to get here and then I will be able to see if thereis any problems with the player. So far my Samung has been great to despite all the complaining about there being so many problems with others who have the same set. The only thing I am experiencing with my set is audio drop outs only on cable but no other input. I'm waitring for a fix or I'll just got optical out to my reciever to wach cable. But the 1500 has worked flawlessly with it so far. I love how they sync together to. I did put some rubber feet on the bottom of the 1500 so it could dispense heat better and it seems to be working. Still runs a little warm but not even close tko my Onkyo reciever and that's only shut down on it's because of it's heat twice since I have had it. It hink it's been three years now. I really want tio try out Iron Man but I guess I'll just have to keep waiting in anticipation.

Just watched Iron Man with the 1.4 update and it worked flawlesly. I would say anyone who is having issues with Iron Man and the 1500, that it's the disc not the player. It was working before I did the 1.4 Can anyone tell me what Live 2.0 will do for Blur-ray's now considering it was part of the update?

There's a new 1.4 update? Thanks. Now the 1500 is Profile 2.0 BD-Live player. How did you update your player? Disc, USB or Ethernet?

Looks like the 1500 may not have enough built in memory to run BD-Live. The following posts are from another forum:

"Do you have a USB flash drive plugged into the back? An external USB flashdrive is required, since the 1500 doesn't have enough onboard internal memory."

"I did test IRON MAN disc 1

With no USB device present it doesnt turn on it just gives a black screen.

With USB deivce connected it gives me a prompt asking if I want to download the BD-Live extras now or go right to move.

Selecting now takes Aprox 30 seconds (using a cable modem) It then prompts you to continue. All the BD-live Triva worked without issue

I do think that the screen turning black with no deivce is a bug that needs to be addressed but besides that seems like firmware is working properly no other issues at least with Iron Man noted

I believe the recall was to fix the black screen. I havne't tested my copy. I'm not even sure I would do anything with the live stuff but everything else is working just fine. So you have to have an external usb flashdrive plugged in to actually use it. That's kind of a bummer.

I like the idea of auto-notifying users if a new version of firmware is available. This is something i think ALL BD players should do at some point in the future if it gets to mass market levels.
