Default What Other Discs Will Blu-Ray be Able to Play? Expanded Blu Capabilities?

Hi, new guy here. I have a few questions about where Blu will be going as Sony attempts to integrate it fully into the complete spectrum of the electronics market now that the war is over. I am already aware of Profile 2.0 on PS3.

In addition to wanting 7.1 channel sound, I will be looking for a Blu-ray player which will also be able to play all of the following: DVD (upconversion or superupconversion), Audio CD, Mini-DVD (all subtypes recorded from camcorder), Picture CD.

I also wonder if anyone has heard of plans for Sony to expand the format to these sub-formats which would be playable on a Blu-ray player: Audio Blu (7.1 channel and superior to SACD and DVD Audio: the logical successor to the audio CD), CD Upconversion from stereo to synthetic 5.1, 6.1, or 7.1 channel sound), Recordable Picture Blu (still photos from my digital camera), Recordable Mini-Blu for camcorders (Blu+R, Blu-R, Blu+RW, Blu-RW, etc.)?

Does anyone know if there are plans for any of these existing formats, or hypothetical extensions of Blu-ray, to be playable on Blu-ray players?

As far as a PC drive, what is in the works for Blu-ROM, Blu-RAM, Blu+R, Blu-R, Blu+RW, Blu-RW, etc. ?

I understand the hypothetical laboratory capacity of a Blu disc is currently 100 layers. Any idea what the practical max number for the general commercial consumer market will be?

Thanks in advance for your replies.
