He has made three posts, the last was in March of 2008. You might be able to contact him by posting an open letter to aesthetic on the internet, but my guess is once he understood his player was incapable of decoding DTS-HD MA and incapable of bitstreaming DTS-HD MA, he had his answer. That Sharp player can decode Dolby TrueHD, but not bitstream it.

Yes, I got the replies. Turns out it's an issue of how the origins were sending the signals... :-\

Okay, but I was saying that he could have at least gotten back to us because we spent a good deal of time explaining some elements to him in succinct fashion -- which he apparently did, as there is a reply here after all...

Okay, aesthetic, so it was dependent on how your player was sending the signals? Were you thinking you were set up for bitstreaming, or what?

I apologize for creating such a 'stir' -- I assure you my intentions were not in attempts to be rude. My final "solution" was a replacement of that player with a Playstation 3.. heh

Thank you for all of the assistance and explanation. I did finally "get it" - realizing that my old player just wasn't going to do the trick.

Glad to hear you replaced that player with one that does what you want.

That's not what I was acting shocked and confused about -- why would someone do an "internet search" for an anonymous forum member and post a public question for him?

What does the PS3 do now for you that the previous player didn't -- are you internally decoding the soundtracks to PCM now?

Thumbs down My feelings about my Sharp HP-BD20U

Here's what I feel about my Sharp HP-BD20U Blu-ray player:

Yes, I'm running the 'latest' March 2009 firmware. It stinks and showed absolutely ZERO improvement.
