Default My Blue Ray DVD Player Problem !!!

I own a Samsung Blue Ray DVD player.I watched a blue ray dvd on it for the first time last night and was'nt too impressed with the way the blue ray looked.I tried to adjust the color and brightness and size of the screen.Slight improvement happened. I watched a movie on my new Sony KDL-46XBR4 LCD HDTV...

I just found out why another blue ray dvd I rented did'nt work on my blue ray player.....it might need a software upgrade. Netflix has a disclosure on its website that says some of their blue ray dvd's might not work with some Blue Ray dvd Players because some players need a software upgrade.
I wonder if that's why the picture on my tv watching other Ble ray dvd's is kind of dark..I adjusted the brightness and still the picture would'nt get much brighter. When I watched regular high definition tv last night it had a better picture than the blue ray.Which should'nt be the case !!!

Your HDTV has different memory settings for pic adjustments for EACH input. You have to be on the input that you want to adjust WHEN you do the adjustments.

What model Samsung BD player do you have? Have you gone to Samsung's website to download the newest firmware? You have to follow the instructions to burn it to a CD before you can put it in the player to update the firmware.

You might want to, at the least, grab a THX SD DVD (Toystory, Starwars, etc.) and go to the THX video optimizer section under the special features section of the disc menu, and set it up based on that.

There seems to be some issues with Samsung BD players and the two new Fox titles that just got released. You will need to either return these movies if it one of these two new releases Fantastic Four SS, or Day After Tomorrow. Or you can wait until Samsung provides the firmware update, but history has shown that Samsung has been about the slowest BD company to provide updates.

What BD movies did you have PQ issues with. It is good to give all this info in the original post so we can better help you in the future.
Hope this helps!

You should include the model number of you equipment in your signature. Particularly your Blu-ray player model. Samsung currently has 3 models out and a 4th Dual Format player coming so we need the model number because different models have different issues.
