I was just calling reference to what was linked and bringing it into perspective. I could care less, personally. Its just when someone makes a claim based on one fanboy's opinion, its all just puddin', no substance. If anything, this particular forum is HD DVD weighted and its obvious because when anyone posts anything Pro HD DVD you get high fives and cheers, but if someone posts Pro Blu or Anti-HD DVD, you get immediate defensive reactions. Its all good though. I think we need more balance, in general, but its all good. Showing HD DVD is good and showing Blu-ray support is good.

There are very few valid anti-HD DVD arguments here, but that has NOTHING to do with this board being pro-HD DVD...LMAO. There are PLENTY of valid anti-Beta-ray arguments though...LMAO.

I really don't think there are any Anti-HD DVD arguments period, from a consumers point of view. HD DVD is the peoples format and you can certainly get that impression by how upset they get when anything is said that doesn't support "the cause". Too bad HD DVD can't get more industry support.

You mean like HP and Samsung, for example?

No, I mean from companies that are going to make a nice standalone player. HP has been on board with HD DVD from the getgo and Samsung, well I think the BDA has sent Samsung over to HD DVD for a sabotage mission. Also, the HP and Samsung you reference is in regards to PC drives, which are nice and all, but have nothing to do with standalone players. There 100+ members in the HD DVD camp, but none of them can release a stand alone player if Toshiba keeps their price way below market value.

More like the Sony Mafia boys holding their pieces to the throats of the Samsung reps and sending out Samsung associates to execute a mission and if they don't follow through, its time for swimming with the fishes. Its a gang that you can never leave and only death gets you out.

sony style store in Tampa had BR display and it really looked good. Several movie clips on the demo disc and some very nice color quality...of course the $7k Sony TV probably helped some.

Not to mention that demo discs can look better than any ACTUAL movie disc could if they pump up the bitrate rate higher than what would allow enough space on a real movie disc.

I remember seeing Amir (VP of MS VC-1 division) post this and I thought it was funny. No huge known paradigm change or inside info, but who knows when Amir drops statements like this.

I just thought it sounded humorous.

Hmm I wonder what Amir knows that we don't? Sounds like the HD DVD camp has a nuke aimed at BD just waiting for launch orders.
