I have couple DVD players. Panasonic is definitely my favorite.

How can anyone watch standard def?

PS3 is fine but it is always better to have a stand alone system if you tend to use it for some specific tasks frequently for which PS3 might not be a requirement. Panasonic DMP-BD85 is a fantastic blu-ray player and one should not hesitate to go for it.
