Default Blue ray will not obtain IP address

I have an Insignia (i know, thats part of my problem lol) and when i try to connect to net flix it will not get the IP address. It is direct lined in. i do not have a router yet so i just unplug the PC and run it right from the modem to the player.

Try turning the modem off,,with the tv off,,,,,,,turn modem back on,,,then turn tv on and see if it finds IP address. without knowing your provider and the model of the Insignia it will be difficult to diagnose.

What do you have the player set to? Static or dynamic IP?

Is DHCP enabled in the modem/router?

Most cable/DSL modems do not have router functions like DHCP (auto assigns IP/DNS/SUBNET/GATEWAY, etc), so you either need to get a router that normally comes with DHCP enabled, or you have to manually enter all those network parameters in the player for it to work.
