Default odd question

a while back, i got an upscaling dvd player, and we are happy with it. something i'm wondering though, if i go and rent/buy a blu-ray dvd, will it look like a blu-ray in the upscaling player, will look different, or will it even play?

An upscaling DVD player cannot play BluRay discs.

If and when you decide to buy a BD player you will see a very large difference in the video quality as well as the audio quality if you have the proper audio equipment.
