Default PS3 and 1080i compatibility.

I have a Sony KDF-60XS955. It is a 1080i rear projection set. Im looking at getting a PS3 and was wondering how well it will match up with my set. I found this on the sony website .

(Copy-protected Blu-ray video discs can only output at 1080p using an HDMI cable connected to a device that is compatible with the HDCP standard.)

Does this mean I can't watch them in 1080i ?

Thanks in advance for your help.

The PS3 will work fine with your display.

That warning means that Bluray retail discs will not output 720P, 1080i, 1080p to displays that are not HDCP compliant. That statement is true for all Bluray players. They have to down convert to 480 for non HDCP displays over HDMI connection.
