Video-5 (The picture quality is excellent, but on my player, if paused for more than 5 minutes, the movie has to be started over.)
Audio-3 (It sounded very good when the sound was on, but....on my Samsung BDP 1400 I had four or five audio drop outs where I had to pause and restart the movie to regain sound. Very annoying. Maybe the player, maybe the movie.) On all the other Blu Ray movies I have watched, non had to be restarted after pausing over 5 minutes, nor did any sound keep glitching up, so this movie may present problems particular to itself. Story-3 This movie is about Nicholas Cage (Gates) trying to clear his ancestor's reputation when it is revealed that he possibly was part of the conspiracy to kill President Lincoln. If you saw the original National Treasure, you know Cage is some sort of master puzzle solver who can figure out cryptic notes, pictures, etc. So in this movie, he enlists the same crew in clearing his family's name. And they all run around like people on speed deciphering hidden secrets in highly secure locations accessible only to CIA types and them, ofcourse. The whole movie is just a comic book come to life. Silly, impossible, supposedly humorous, etc. Kind of like a poor man's Indiana Jones. If you are a kid at heart, or a real kid, you might enjoy this movie. If you like comic books, you'll like it too. If for any reason you want to take a movie seriously, don't get this one. But for a two hour escape from reality, it's OK. Nothing great. |

It must be your copy. I did not have this problem when we watched it. I thought the audio was great. I'd give it a 4.5.

mshulman is right the audio was great. I used a PS3 to Denon 3808 with no problems. You may want to check on your disc. I liked NT2 better then the first one.

I agree, I think had more to it then the first, and it did well at the box office, wonder if well be get another 'poor mans Indiana Jones'? [which is Harsh! But really its the genre, its a summer action flick, its to be expectedly unrealistic]. I love history so I found it really entertaining, i'd say buy if people are on the fence.

The first one was better but as far as the sequel goes it was very good. I used a PS3 as my player;
P/Q: 4.5 out of 5 S/Q: 5 out of 5 no drop outs did not have to mess with volume to hear voices and other things background noise actually filled out the sound experience not overtake it. Movie overall : 4 out of 5 good story great for the family.

Part 2 had some really dumb script moments. Like when he is searching the presidents desk while his GF distracts the white house aid (only meters away in the same room)
A bit TOOO silly.PQ was great though. |

I guess we watched a different movie.....Blu Ray of National Treasure 2 is one of the best I have ever seen and the audio was great as well. This is a Disney movie so expecting anything more than a fun ride is taking the wrong perspective. Disney sure has the edge with Blu Ray movies.....for folks who like Blu Ray movies, this one is a must have for the collection!

I was also dissappointed in this movie. It was boring and predictable IMO. Now if that was Jessica Biel instead of what's her face I wouldn't be screaming "Next"!!!

I thought the PQ was a 4.5. Very clear and nice detail.
The AQ was also good, and I gave it a 4.0. No playback problems. The movie was OK, alittle out there, but entertaining, I gave it a 3.5. Worth a rent, but I wouldn't buy it.

I really couldn't get into this movie. It looked and sounded great but was WAAAAY too far fetched for me.. to many things were just too easy for him to do..

It looked great and played well on my player (Samsung 1400) but the video dropped out at about 8 minutes 3 times, then again at 14 minutes just once. The movie didn't stop, just a 20 second black screen. It didn't do it again after the 14 minute mark. Maybe my player....but that doesn't usually happen. It was a NetFlix copy and did have some scratches.
GREAT movie, though! I will be buying it. |
