“Angel Heart” is a great film. Based on the novel “Fallen Angels” by William Hjortsberg
(who also wrote the story for Scott’s ”Legend”), the story is as taken out of any pulp detective novel.

Harold Angel is a low rent kinda detective, he totally looks like he would take advantage of ho-baths.
He gets hired by an attorney for an eccentric client, who wants Angel to locate a singer
When Angel tries to find people that know this singer, he enters a world of
voodoo, witchcraft, and mysticism, where he will find more than he bargained for.

I saw this movie in the 90's in SD of course, and it scared me then. This film has two of my favorite
actors, so yes I preorder this title. BTW, I don't think it's a quoinkidink that Deniro looks alot like his favorite
director Martin Scorsese in this film! You get to hear a bit of Louisianna flavor in the audio, especially explosive scenes

I have a low end HDTV, and sit 14" away, and this film looks incredible.
So I figure, it will look incredible on your rig too.

Movie- 9/10
VQ-9/10
AQ-9/10

I didn't watch the supps. Here's some SS though, y'all know how I roll!

Nice Review Brat!

I didn't realize this just came out on blu-ray. I remember it as a good dark Louisiana Voodoo movie with lots of great actors. I haven't seen this in a long time. I might pick it up. Thanks for reminding me about it. Is it as good as you remembered it?

Nice screen shots too. They capture the essence of the movie and thanks for the gratuitous pic of yourself at the end there. As a reviewer, you want to keep the reader engaged

I loved this movie the first time I saw it a couple of decades ago, what a great story and the execution was perfect. Alan Parker is a very good filmmaker and is very versatile. I don't know if I will pick up the Blu-ray but I would like to see it again sometime. I can't even remember the young lady's name, Bill Cosby's TV daughter, and won't look it up but I thought she was going to become a big star. I guess I confused sex appeal for talent, her career hasn't amounted to much.

What? Even your list shows she has had a total of four roles in movies in the last decade, none significant. How is that very busy as an actor? Compared to me, maybe, but compared to Angelina Jolie, not so impressive.

I remembered her name shortly after my post. I don't even know what she looks like now, in her early 40's.

Chris, you never specified movies, you said career. Most actors do both tv, and movies. I posted her credits to show you she has constantly worked since leaving, "The Cosby Show". nothing more, and nothing less. She has directed a few projects also. Why do you feel the need to belittle her accomplishments?

I stated I thought she would be a star after seeing her in this role and then remarked she hasn't had much of a career as an actress. A few very minor film roles and five episodes in a single TV series in the last decade, a TV series I have never heard of. I don't know whether she has been busy or not, but if she has, it certainly hasn't been as an actor in major film or TV roles. I have no idea where you are getting she has been very busy, a total of maybe a couple of hours of filmed performances, nothing noteworthy at all in the last ten years, isn't my idea of busy. I could research and see if she has been busy on stage or something else, but whatever it is obviously isn't what I had in mind when I said I had thought she would be a big star.

You might actually look at what you posted and see if you really believe that is an indication of her being very busy as an actor, I have and can tell you it isn't.

Lisa Bonet, it seemed to me, went against the grain of Hollywood. That certainly doesn't help a career in movies. I think she was also busy coming up with a name for her daughter that she had last year. Nakoa-Wolf Manakauapo Namakaeha Momoa. I had to copy and paste that.
