My take: (the breakdown)

Men in Black is now 12 years old (11 as of this Blu-ray release last year) and it is still one of the better comedy/science-fiction films out there in my opinion. The chemistry between Jones and Smith is extremely well done and makes for a rather memorable performance. The story follows that of James Edwards as he chosen to represent the Men in Black, which monitors the whereabouts and travels of all 'aliens' on Earth. When James is transformed into J he begins involved in an alien political war where the Bugs are trying to obtain the galaxy from another alien faction. It is up to K and J to stop the Bug before they end having one of the most ultimate powers in the universe. Filled with great comedy and action I say this is worth a purchase for fans.

Note: I have decided to begin including my own personal screen shots and they are located at the bottom of this page.

The video presentation of Men in Black quite pleasing for the most part. Colors are well saturated creating a nice presentation, but not quite three-dimensional experience. Flesh tones also appear to be accurate. Grain is light during most scenes, but it does get heavier in a few scenes causing some noise. Fine detail is actually quite good in the majority as facial features are clearly visible. Sony has definitely done a decent job with this catalog title on Blu-ray.

We are supplied with a 5.1 Dolby TrueHD track that is a lot more aggressive than I was expecting. Dialogue is clear and never struggles to be heard. Surrounds get some use, but I felt they could have been used a little more during some of the less intense scenes. Your sub will definitely come alive several times throughout the film and I actually felt that it was overpowering during a couple instances. Like the video I was fairly impressed.

We get the same supplemental package that was included in the previous DVD release that includes a commentary and several making of features. We also get an extra alien subtitle track, which is worth checking out. Everything is presented in 480 except for the film's trailer, which is presented in 1080.

Movie: 7/10
VQ: 8/10
AQ: 8/10
Supplements: 6/10
Final word: A Purchase For Fans

As always thanks for reading folks.

Note: Screen shots have a resolution of 1024x768

The only problem is, that as many times as I've watched it I just can't seem to remember much about it....
