Default Fringe: season 1

PLOT: Think X-files meets Lost with a touch of Star Trek. Mostly X Files though. Olivia is a FBI agent working with a mad scientist, Walter Bishop, and his son Peter. Together they investigate 'Fringe Science' cases, where experimental science is at root of all the strange cases. There is an overall story much like LOST where the small things are big clues, but you don't have to look for them to 'get' whats going on. Dark Humor is common. Beware there is gore. 8.5/10

VIDEO: part of the new style with lots of lens flare and color correction, the disc is hard to judge. Grain is constant and sometimes noticeable in a bad way. Faces and details remain clear. Colors are crisp. This is the only BD that I am torn on giving it a slightly neg score because of the noticeable faults, but i cant because it is on purpose. BTW this show has great SFX for TV. The BD seems to show the flaws in these FX....~8.5/10

AUDIO: The star of the disc. Bass booms. Voices crisp. Great score. The audio really sets the mood. 9/10

EXTRAS: im only half way through the season, so I have not looked at them yet, but the menu shows at least one unique extra per episode. ~7/10

OTHER: each disc plays the episodes and skips the menu. The menu doesn't have an episode select option. ODD?!? you must use the pop up menu while an episode is playing to choose a different episode. -1/10

If you like LOST or X-Files go ahead and buy this. You wont be upset. Star Trek Fans, L. Nimoy makes a few guest appearances. Sci Fi fans must rent.

Default

Content: 11/10

If it looks as good or better than the Fox HD broadcasts: 11/10

Audio: Pretty dang good.

You: rent at least. Kam says so. Not your average TV show.
