Being the movie nut that I have always been since age 2 I have found myself enjoying foreign films more and more even though I have seen my share of bad ones too. This movie centers on "Operation Bernhard", the largest counterfeiting operation in the history of the world. The Counterfeiters does not dissapoint at all as most of the film is historically accurate right down to the clothing and physical stature of the Jews. The print of the movie itself is extremely dull, gray, and sometimes dark, but what do you expect from a Holocaust style movie? The details and colors are incredibly sharp, but there are large amounts of grain, which I have discovered was the Director's intent. At times the grain can become slightly distracting, but only to videophiles like myself rather than your average viewer. Most of the movie is rather quiet with the exception of some beautiful instrumental music during a few parts, but what is heard sounds extremely rich. I will definitely be looking to buy this one in the future as it is a must have. Enjoy.
