Laptop to HDTV - HDMI audio problems

Hi,

I recently purchased a 32'' Insignia LCD in order to, among other things, watch movies from my Gateway laptop (NVIDIA Geforce 8800m GTS graphics card) on my TV. I have it connected with a Rocketfish HDMI cable, and while the video shows up perfectly, I am unable to get any audio output at all. I have SPDIF set to default, but nothing plays even though the "bars" are going up and down. The "Test" produces no sound, though the "bars" move in response. I have tried all 4 HDMI sockets on the TV, and I have tried restarting the laptop after setting the SPDIF to default. The volume on the TV is up all the way, and works fine with AV cables from my Wii and component cables from my Xbox 360. I have tried messing around with the controls under "Properties" on the SPDIF, but don't really know what I'm doing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

64-bit Vista, if that matters.

Does your laptop output audio and video from the HDMI port, or does it just output video?
