Last night my 811 receiver was finally updated with the latest software (P2.89); previous versions were 2.84, 2.85 and 2.87. Hopefully, this update will eliminate many of the problems I and others are having with the 811 receiver. Time will tell? :yippee:

The only difference I see on the guide is that there's a TVGuide logo below the DN logo; there are still black bars on the side of the guide; there are still black bars on the sides of the menu screen too. There are no black bars on the top or bottom of either screen.

I noticed the red TV guide logo and so checked the software and it was 2.89. The only other effect I see is that the picture on the PBS channel (247) now 'jumps' as if I am missing a scan or two every few scans so that it looks like it is fast forwarding the image. All the other channels I have checked seem normal. Any idea of what is happening here?

Is there a way to program the update to update at a certain time every night. I'm getting sick of turning on my tv then have to wait for it to update. It does this every 2 to 3 days. You didn't have to wait with the older non HD Receivers so why do we have to wait with this one?

It's a common problem with the 811. Do you have the latest software update? 2.89...
I just got mine downloaded but I doubt it fixed the problem. Hopefully it did.

Got my update just as I going to watch the Baseball game. I went and tested the switch and its doing 38 tests. So if you decide to test switch make sure that you have lots of time.

Has anyone else had a problem with their "Favorites" lists on the 811. First one of my lists disappeared, now a second is gone. It's a real pain and takes away from the functionality of the Guide severely. I called Dish and they said it is a recurring problem and they would send out a fix. When I try to redo one of the corrupted lists, I get an error message saying "No channels selected."
Does anyone know anything about this issue?

Only a similar problem for storing OTA channels. Of course, you need an OTA antenna hooked up to view them. But once they are received and stored, the actual channel designation or number, should not be lost from the list, regardless of whether you receive them or not.
Other than that, I have not had a problem with favorites lists, only the OTA list menu.

I got mine pushed thru last night and I lost a bunch of channels. 111, 113, 115 are gone. Those are just the one's I've noticed. They are missing on the bedroom's 311 box too . . . :(
