Ok,
So we are moving into a bigger place, and I have decided that I need to buy new cables for everything. My last purchase is the speaker cable, as I CAN NOT decide on what to get.

These are the choices:

I am ordering 200ft. I won't be running this in wall, and the longest run will be 25-30ft, and that will be for the rear surrounds.

The main differance between all of these is thread count, does it really matter? Along with the price. I can get 200ft of the second kind for as much as the 100ft of the 3rd.

I was going to run 10 gauge all around, but in the end decided that was quite overkill.

You can see my equipment in my signature.

Anyone that could give some friendly advice would be very appreciated

Thanks,
Quentin

Since you are running it exposed -Depending on your decor-I would go with the first choice based on the jacket color.

Any of the three choices would be fine it just depends on whats eaiser on your eye in the room.

Since you are not running it behind the walls/cieling the 2nd choice is all you need. At maximum runs of only 25 ft, any one of the choiced will be more than enough. You can even get away with 14 or even 16 awg at those lengths if a bit smaller wire would be easier to run. But if size doesn't matter (that's what she said) 12 awg all the way.

How are going to run it (under carpet or behind the base boards)? As DC suggested, the white may be easier on the eye if going open runs..

I forgot to mention that I am putting all the cables in raceways around the room, so I won't be able to see the cable at all.

Thanks for the quick reply ;)

Right now I am leaning towards the 2nd, simply because its the cheapest option, and I can't see much of a differance between it, and the 3rd, besides the higher thread count on the 3rd.

If anyone else wants to chime in it would be much appreciated

Choice #2 would work fine.I would stick with the 12 guage so if you upgrade your equipment you don't have to run new cables. I get mine from lowe's. 12g lamp chord is all I use with all my stuff.
