How Do Owner's Get Away With This?

Last night I was playing xbox with a guy who has been a real good friend for years & he has been a die hard Bengal fan since around 1980. And he got to talking about being aggravated always with Mike brown & somehow our discussion of Mike Brown led us to talking about the Pittsburgh Pirates.
We got to talking about as bad as a guy like Brown has been, or the Clippers owner has been that we didn't think all of them together was as bad as the Pirates owner. I don't know his name.

But when you think about it the Pirates have traded away a solid young team since 2003. Here is a list of players the Pirates have traded since 2003...
C Jason Kendall, 1B Adam Laroche, 2B Freddy Sanchez, SS Jack Wilson, 3B Aramis Ramirez, LF Jason Bay, LF Nyjer Morgan, CF Kenny Lofton, CF Nate McLouth, RF Xavier Nady, RF Brian Giles, SP Kris Benson, SP Oliver Perez, SP Ian Snell, SP Tom Gorzelanny, RPJohn Grabow, RP Mike Gonzalez.

WOW! Those guys there with the chemistry they would have no doubt formed playing with each other would be a solid team in that average NL Central. And if you add maybe one big pitcher & a big bat or maybe another solid pitcher this would easily be a tough team I think.

But the owner just keeps giving them away for nothing & gets away with it. I would love for him to have to stand in front of every die hard Pirate fan & explain the reason for each guy I listed being traded. I know these guys want to make money, but gee wizz you would think he would spend a little & have made a great team out of the above players along with a couple FA Pitchers.

They were calling them "QuitsBurgh" on TV yesterday. And if I heard right Pittsburgh has gotten rid of every single player the last few years who had any hype except for Zach Duke & Ryan Doumit & Andrew McCutchen.
I am not a Pirate fan but I think it is a disgrace when these owners destroy every shred of hope these fans have for their team. My friend who is die hard bengals for almost 30 years now has his TV room decked out with Black & orange & Bengals memorabilia that he has bought & almost give up finally & sold his stuff a while back & that kinda crap just makes me mad that people who work hard & scrape up the money to go to these games & buy a bunch of their team's stuff & just get screwed year in & year out.

And the Pirates have definitely passed the Bengals & Clippers as being the worst franchise in sports imo.
Well that's all as I just wanted to vent as I just think situations like the Pirates are out of hand & somebody high up should intervene.

Have a Nice Day!

Anything to make the Bengals look better!

No, seriously, I agree 100% with you about the Pirates. Nothing more than a glorified farm team. I think MLB should step in and take the franchise over untiil a real owner can be found. Come on, it's not like Pittsburgh can't field a winner, a Super Bowl and a Stanley Cup in the same season. Now the Pirates are going to set a new pro sports record with 17 losing seasons in a row!

Wow, 3 titles in Pittsburgh this year, Cincinnatti must REALLY be steamed!

Hold on there DoctorCad I have been a die hard Steeler fan longer than a lot of people on this board are old. I have been a Steeler fan since the year after they beat Minnesota when I was around 8 years old for their first Super Bowl ring. And I have never wavered as I was even a die hard during the Bubby Brister days. So I am not trying anything, I have stated the truth about the Pirates & hope their fans would get what they deserve, a competitive team, just as I'd like to see the Bengals have one as it is not fair to the die hards who spend the big money to show their loyalty & go to games.

It just irks me what the Pirates have done to their fans by GIVING away all of that talent recently is why I say they are the worst now.

as a matter of fact it is time to change avatars as the Reds are done.

Yes I am very proud of that avatar. But I am also very proud of my Reds avatar every year because of the great tradition we have here in Cincy. I know we have been weak for awhile but we have a new owner who is slowly but surely puttung a very good team together just like he promised he would.

It be a huge crime that Charlie Hustle is not in the Hall of Fame. One of the games greatest - ever. Me thinks it's all because of where he played. If he had been a Yank or a Dodger, he would have been stated by now.

I believe the term frontrunner applies here. Like most steeler fans that live in OHIO.
