I posted this in the Surround Sound section, but it probably should be asked here.
Here is what I have:
TV: TC-P54G10
DVD: PS3
Surround Sound: HT-S7100
Problem Im having is hiding the HDMI going from the Reciever to the TV. My TV is above the fireplace...and my component cabinet is going to sit just to the right of the fireplace. I need the HDMI to follow the contor of the mantle and fireplace in order to minimize visibility.
I ordered HDMI cables from monoprice.com but I think I ordered the wrong ones. The ones that came are very thick...have a netted coating....dont bend easily.
Trying to find some solutions. Which HDMI do I need to purchase that will give me the quality I want yet have the flexibilty to hide?
Thanks
Jarrod

How long is your run going to be from the receiver.. If not very long (say 12 ft. or less) you don't really need the thicker awg HDMI cable. You can probably get away with 28 awg (sounds like you have 24 awg now).. I use a 10 ft 28 awg cable to my TV and it works great. Monoprice also has a flat/ribbon type HDMI cable option that may work better for you as well.

I might be able to get away with 12ft. 15ft would absolutely be enough I think. As of right now the 10ft length is not enough
So you would say anything longer than 12ft and I should stick with the 24awg?

You can check and see. You probably will be O.K. with a 28 awg 15 ft... But won't know until you try. Once you get in the 15-20 ft. realm, you can start to experience dropout issues with the thinner cables, but not always. That depends on enviroment, cable and such.. Again, you should be O.K. but if not, you can alway just exchange the cable or return it. You may want to give the 15 ft. ribbon HDMI cable a try though. Looks like that may be a better run for flex and concealment purposes. A couple people in the reveiws claimed this anyway..

But if not, this should do.. At only $6, definately worth a shot and will quite a bit more flexible than the 24 awg. I have both versions so I know what you are saying.

NP... And sorry for the double post. I though I was just editing the 1st one.
Yep, that is what I would do too. And for only an extra $6, I would also grab the 15' 28 awg cable too for shits and grins.. Good to have an extra cable and then you could see what works best..
