I was wondering if anyone could help me out. I am a former Voom customer and still have the satelitte on my roof. If I am going to order from Dish Network do I need to have their Voom satelitte installed for $99 In addition to getting the regular Dish satelitte. I thought I had read that if you already had the Voom Sat. you would not have to pay for the second dish.

It depends on the series of LNBs. I believe you have the legacy series if Voom did the original install. If you can get a dish500 with a legacy series twin LNB then all you would need is (one or two) SW21 switches to combine the two dishes. If they only have dishpro or dishpro plus LNBs then you'll have to change your 61.5 LNB to dishpro as well, along with adding a DP21 switch. Even if you have to change the LNB (approx $50) for the 61.5 dish you shouldn't have to pay $100 if you it yourself because the Voom dish is already installed and aligned.
Bottom line see if you can get a legacy series dish500 to reduce your cost.
PS: If you get a superdish instead of dish500 it will be more costly because it's dishpro series and requires and expensive DPP44 switch for adding 61.5. You only need superdish for certain locals or international channels. In that case $100 is cheapest way to upgrade (that's what I did to add Voom).
