Hi Guys,
Just bought a new LG 1080P Full High Definition TV
(model: 42LH35FD - AA) with LG Reveiver DVD player (HT903WA) with 5.1 surround sound l think it is, and basically when l connected my DVD to TV via the receiver l connected my HDMI cable and all was working fine.
I then decided to change the settings from the receiver in the resolution section from 570 to 1080P and all of a sudden the screen came up with "no signal". I am getting sounds but no picture.
I then decided to connect it through AV1 and l got picture and sound but with that it only allows me to choose 570 resoultion picture, doesn't allow me to choose 1080P.
What l basically need to know is how to get my screen to display with the HDMI cable connected. I tried going to menu through the receiver but it really is no use when l can't see anything on the screen on the TV.
TV and RECEIVER are both compatible with 1080P Full HD.
any help would be great please, just had a technician come over, he was useless to be honest.
thanks in advance.
Help needed urgently please!
cheers

Maybe try turning off and or unplugging power to both the TV and receiver for a few minutes, then restarting them. It could be a handshake issue.

The only signal that is 1080P is from BR so why set the rec to 1080p let the TV upconvert.

Try "sneaking up on it".
See if you can set the receiver output to 720p.
If that works, then try 1080i. (note, if 1080i works, I'd stop fretting and just use that setting (see post above))
LG specs say that the TV is "input compatible" for 1080p/24 - they don't specifically say that it is input compatible for 1080p/30.
Your receiver should be upscaling to 1080p/30; perhaps the TV is is not capable of receiving a 1080p/30 input signal.

Hi I understand what your saying but l can't view anything on the screen, just coming up with "no signal", for the first few seconds its says connecting HDMI than it says "no signal".
What is "try sneaking up on it"?
I wish l could select 720P or 1080i but with HDMI l can't see anything on the screen?
l can only see something on screen if l go into AV1 BUT that only has 576p settings can't go lower or higher.

In a Pickle! Factory reset on your TV?
Good guess, and certainly worth a try . . .
but the problem seems to have started when the output signal format of the receiver was changed.

Hmm, I could have sworn I said that right off the bat and was waiting for the OP to try that and get back to us with the results. I have seen problems occur when switching resolutions that only a reset fixed.
Sadly, not all devices play well together though you'd think 2 LG products would really enjoy each other's company! :what:

Yes, we'd like to think that, wouldn't we?
But, I suppose the reality is that the TV design guys do their thing and the receiver/DVD guys do their thing and the twain just never meet.
