Transfer movies from HD DVD to Flash Drive?

Does anyone know if/how I can transfer movies on my HD DVD player to a flash drive? It would be 100 times easier when traveling to have a few movies available to view on my computer without having to worry carrying a bunch of discs around.

Get the program AnyDVD to bypass the security on your disc, then get a program called RipBot that will copy the movie from the disc to a smaller file.

Those two programs are what I used to create copies of Blu-Ray movies and HD-DVD movies work in a very similar way.

Bypassing the copyright/content protection IS illegal in the US.

I use my Hauppauge 1212 HD-PVR Video Capture device (http://www.highdefinitionblog.com/?page_id=331)

It makes a smaller file than ripping with a typical 2 hour movie taking up about 6 Gb of space. The quality is very good and your HD DVD player should be able to output the required component video in HD. And it is legal.

Now that's the way to do it...

Of course the DMCA makes that a crime in the US if the HD DVD uses digital copy protection and as far as I know, 100% of the commercial HD DVD's did.

Well thanks. But I beileve your post is non-responsive. Try answering the question asked, if it's not too much trouble.:banghead:

If you read my answer it DID in fact answer your question. It is illegal.

Man, do you have a reading disability? The question is how does one make the transfer.

Either change your tone or leave this forum. Your question has been answered. It is illegal to do so and since that is the case it cannot be discussed on this forum. Did you even read the forum rules?
