Legendary former world champion Arturo Gatti, 37, has reportedly been found dead inside a beachside flat he was renting at the Hotel Dorisol of Porto de Galinhas, Pernambuco, Brazil. Apparently he was found by his wife with a head injury. Gatti had arrived with his wife and baby on Friday on their honeymoon. Local police consider his death suspicious.

Brazilian authorities have taken the 23-year-old wife of former world boxing champion Arturo Gatti into custody in connection with the slaying of the Canadian fighter at a tourist resort.

Prosecutors will decide if Brazilian Amanda Rodrigues will be charged in the death of Gatti, the former junior welterweight champion who appeared to be strangled with a purse strap in a rented apartmentr at Porto de Galinhas.

Authorities were concerned about inconsistent statements given by Rodrigues, who has said she was not involved.
