Well bro
first its LCD not LDC
and second there hundreds of threads posted about this which one is better about LCD and PLasma
and bro PLASMA have far more better display than ANY i mean ANY LCD.it also have better viewing angle which make its picture perfect bro.
and that is what make plasma better.
So Never say LCD is Better Than PLASMA.because its absolutely wrong
and do not believe these kind of rumors.just go for plasma.

+1
Plasma as of right now is superior to any LCD out on the market, it will probably remain that way for a while.
jmcohen23 06-30-2009, 08:37 AM in my personal experience, plasma is better than LCD, but both are great. in terms of determining which is better, you'll have to consider your room setup first (e.g. viewing distance, windows, etc).
be sure to search through this forum on our reviews and discussions.
a 54" panasonic plasma goes for about $2k.
but for $8k, you should be able to re-do a whole room including the berkline reclining chairs.

Runco top of the heap for projectors has a line of plasma and LCD flat screens to choose from.. Pricey though...

denverbrian 06-30-2009, 01:13 PM Yes plasma's have better picture quality but if you are putting the TV in a room with lots of natural light (windows) you may want to consider an LCD. I have one of each and they are both great.

I am skeptical about the margin of improvement of a Runco over a consumer-grade Kuro panel.
That's what sent Fuji's Plasmatron packing...the more money spent on a flat screen is giving less benefit in return these days.
You may get free calibration, a 5 year warranty, etc. and still not be ahead. Besides those dual stands make it look like a duck.
pappylap 06-30-2009, 01:47 PM Yup, pretty much just basing the suggestion on Runcos reputation for their projector business these panels are large and they are pricey.... but, I have never witnessed one first hand.......Just thought I would throw it out there in case the OP is unfamiliar.... hell, most consumers I have talked to have never heard of Runco......but then most of them arent considering putting 100K into their home theater.....

I have a friend with a professionally calibrated Vidikron..(now owned by Runco). 3 years old, it has a nice picture. Hold pause more than 30 seconds or so..the IR is horrible! It does clear quite fast, but quite shocking the first time you see it. These sets have great processing, etc...and for the time good panels..most were supplied by Panasonic.
Quite honestly, I think they are the difference between a Tahoe and an Escalade. Under the robust chassis trim they are the same.
Of course, some have extra features like plug-in modules to accommodate difference sources and installation. You pay for the custom features as well as the label. I think you will see more and more high end theaters with Kuro panels, and the savings going elsewhere.
pappylap 06-30-2009, 02:54 PM Interested to see if the OP will be curious enough to check out the Runcos.........
newtodef 06-30-2009, 07:33 PM My opinion coincides with many others in this thread, I own a plasma and love it, I have also owned 2 LCDS and they both sucked. I love watching Blu ray movies and playing my Xbox 360 both of which sucked balls on the LCD's. For 8k you can get the nicest plasma and an entire Ht system that will rattle your neighbors house or you can get the nicest LCD and max out your budget and still not have the PQ or motion clarity a plasma offers:) If you buy from BB talk them down as much as you can they will work with you and you can get better gear, good luck to you on your search.
DoctorCAD 06-30-2009, 08:34 PM I have a perfectly good 40" LCD I'll sell you for $7k and you can buy a couple of Lazy-Boys with the leftover grand!
Send the money and I promise I'll send the TV!

Well said, my only exception would be 'working with BB'. I find with some education on the products you can do better yourself. Magnolia is somewhat better regarding tech savvy of the sales people, but that varies too with the store.
Do the research, and go to Costco.. .. :)
As far as the rest of the system, the internet is fine too for saving money. Just stick with reputable dealers. Even dedicated a/v stores will give you great service, and discounts if you buy a system from them.
You have to shop retailers as well as equipment. Just my :2cents

It took a full page for someone to mention a KURO... come on that should have been the first suggestion.
IMO though 8K is just way too much to be spending on a tv, a good KURO isn't near that much and that quality difference between a Panny and a KURO isn't worth the money to me.

Post #10 , first page...but I think it is worth the money, now there is still one Kuro panel available for around the same price.

Of course, you are limited to 50" which would be small for a large theater. Limited supply...going fast, I'm sure.
Codes20 07-05-2009, 07:58 AM How about a Panasonic V series plasma and spend the rest on audio equipment?
Ntruder 07-05-2009, 01:31 PM Give me the $8k and I'll give you a sweet 54" plasma and a new couch
