Burning HD DVD discs using DVD recorder?

I managed to find a used HD DVD player today with a few movies for under $100 and sure eventually I want to get Blu Ray but as of now I am unemployed and money is tight. So what I want to do is take some HD movies I have and burn them onto regular DVD's so they will play back on my HD DVD player. It is model # HD-A30 I haven't checked if the firmware is up to date or not.

To clarify what I am wanting to know is if I have a HD movie I got on my PC what software, codec, and settings , etc do I need to use to burn a disc that will play back on my new player. I understand it will likely not be as high quality as store bought movies but I have the Star Wars saga on HDTV from HBO and I want to be able to watch on my HD DVD player and since Star Wars is not on BR yet and since I can't afford a BR player at this time I am trying to make the most of what I have. thanks in advance.

Is it not possible? Will I need to get an actual HD-DVD burner or does nobody know how to do this?

Am I asking the wrong question or is there like a rule I missed where people can't reply to me for so many days or after so many posts or what? I mean I have asked 4 questions in 4 different forums and they all get ignored? Am I missing something? Can nobody help me or did I do something to like piss everyone off? I am confused.

You might want to try the HTPC section here as that might get more people that have done this type of thing. That section is here:

I've never seen an hd dvd burner. I've seen pc combo blu-ray/hd dvd reader drives, but never an hd dvd burner even when hd dvd was still alive. I would've thought that studios would want to go with hd dvd because there weren't any burners on the market let alone blank media..

The one above is one of the few that came out,but it burns at 1x ,which equates to 2 hours to burn a 30GB blank....:huh
