I've read elsewhere, following today's digital transition it would be a good idea to rescan channels into your TVs and Dish receivers.
I guess they expect some burps along the way, and power changes.
I am not sure how different this would be from a transmitter going off the air and then back on again.

Most stations have already shut off, those still up are may be changing tomorrow around 12:30pm.
In our area we were asked to rescan because one of our channels is changing its broadcast frequency from UHF to VHF.

Now that makes sense!

I did a re-scan today and picked up 2 new channels. I intend to do another tomorrow to see if I can find any others. :)

I did a rescan and still found that my locals fed via satellite are available both in analog and digital. Would anyone have an idea why the local analog feeds would still be available if the broadcast analog signals have been shut down?

Since the transition all Dish locals are are available in HD at channel X.0 as well as channel X.1.
Only glitch, our ABC affiliate is dead at 30.1 but normal at 30.0. But at least it is easy to work around.

Did you delete them before you rescanned?, also which receiver? If it is a Vip receiver, they never had the analog tuner so they wouldn't have been there to begin with.

I did find out that all the Digital Stream boxes did not delete the RF45 channels when the rescan detected that 12.1 was now on RF12. Strange was the fact that 6.1 also changed from 56 to 36, and the old channels were deleted. As far as I know the DS was the only box to have this problem.
