I am getting about ready to go with Dire*t. I would like to be watching the Indy 500 right now. First they took away our eastern channels then they dropped ABC...I'm getting ready to drop crazy charlie and his sinking ship.

In the last 6 months Dish has greatly improved, so I don't thinks its a sinking ship. Watched the F1 race on Speed HD this morning, and the Indy 500 looks great on ABC HD. Sorry you are having a problem with your own local ABC affiliate. Maybe you should call them and ask why they won't go with Dish, and not jump on Charlie too hard.

Dropped ABC?!? Hmm... That would suck.

I've never had a problem with ABC since I've been with Dish~ :what:

I agree, It's a Local ABC problem, not necessarily Dish!!! (ABC prolly wants too much money for retransmission. Same here with CBS and we're giving them Hell here!!!)

Charlie doesn't want to pay them and won't give us back the easterns or the SF affiliate we used to have. How many other channels, such as smithsonian, will crazy charlie decide not to paywhen it's time for renewal? Maybe in your area.

It's Fisher Communications in Oregon and Washington who wants too much money for ABC. They want more than a 100% pay increase to keep offering ABC to Dish. From what I've heard, they want the same increase from all providers. Rumor has it that once the current contracts with Fisher expire with both Comcast and Direct, they will also lose ABC because they won't pay what Fisher's asking.

But yes, it has sucked being without ABC for the last 6 months. That's why Dish is giving me a $5 a month credit for a year.

I wouldn't be as pissed if I could get the ota signal, but here in the mountains that's not possible. With monday night football coming up I may have to switch.

LOL, you realize MNF is no longer on ABC, correct? Or hasn't that news spread up into the hills yet? Sorry, couldn't resist that last part. :)

Monday Night Football has been on ESPN since 2006. I'm wondering exactly WHAT you have been watching on ABC that you think is Monday Night Football ???? And, if everyone is dropping ABC in your area, who are you going to switch to anyway ?
