I'm thinking of upgrading to one of the HD Dish network receivers but I just found out that only one of the TV's would be able to get HD programming. Does anyone have any ideas on being able to access HD content for both TV1 and TV2? All of the packages seem to say the same thing. HD on TV1 and SD on Tv2.

Thanks...

I looked into that. Apparently the VIP 211 is free I would just need to purchase the addon for DVR access. thanks.

TV2 can receive HD 'Programming' on all Dish receivers with 2 tuners. The catch is, the HD programming is down converted to SD. So for example you can view HDNet on TV2 but it will only be in SD. You can view it zoomed or letterboxed.

You need to be more specific, because there is output TV1 and TV2 and there are three HD tuners in the 622/722 receiver.

Output TV1 is HD on both the HDMI and component ports simultaneously.
Output TV2 has ALL content down rezzed to SD.

However, all HD content is always recorded to the HDD in HD. SD is only recorded from SD sources. An HD program seen in SD on output TV@ will be seen in HD on Output TV1.

With one 622/722 tuner, you can have HD on two TVs, but it will be the simultaneous output from output TV1, i.e. both HDTVs see the same programming.

If you want to watch seperate HDTV programming on two TV's, you must have 2 HD receivers of some type.

I talked to a rep about this exact same thing just yesterday.
He recommended that I wait for the release of the 922, and expects it sometime around this summer. It sends the HD signal to TV2 wirelessly.

I, however, am not patient enough. I ended up purchasing 2 more receivers out right. A lot cheaper if you don't buy them from Dish. haha
Who would of thought getting HD to 4 separate TVs would have become such a hassle?

Good luck with your searches ...
