we have fx and speed HD

I have classic gold 250, plus my bill shows I pay for gold and platinum HD, yet Speed HD and FX HD show up in red as not part of my subscription.
Is there yet another charge to have those channels?

Me too. I had to call DISH to get them to turn it on. After the reboot and program guide reload, it came right up.

Are you having the same problem as my first post in this thread?
If so, just call customer support and tell them to shoot an authorization to your reciever. Took less than a minute for my channels to come in after I called.

Hopefully everyone has refreshed overnight. If not, cutomer service can reauthorize your receiver (as mentioned above).

Don't know where you got that channel number, but look at 9468 for speed or mapped to 150.

HI ALL, looong time no write, but today I will type and paste. When I call they say there is no way to turn on those channels for a turbo sub. Crazy thing is I would pay them more for the channels if they atleast offered it to me. Dish had a crazy business model, if they are trying to make more money why not add these channels as extra level to the turbo Hd sub's.

I am pretty sure that I have turbo HD as well. I may have the silver package or something extra also. When I called I was told they were not available but when I did the chat it was turned on in minutes. Google search Dish Network Chat.

Formula 1 won't be real HD unless Dish buys Bernie Ecclestone's feed which they are not currently, and probably won't in the near future. The HD Formula 1 races are a premium PPV or season subscription in most of the world. Speed Channel utilizes the pool SD feed for the races, qualification, and practice. When the broadcast networks in the US had some races on in the last couple years we did get a few in HD and they were great quality.

BTW- To everybody: Always try the online chat tech support before you ever call Dish. It will keep you from hating Dish.

Tried the online chat and no luck they finally told me that the launch of the channels had been delayed till the 13th. I think they are not giving it to the turbo hd sub's.

I think you needed to have Speed in the first place to get Speed in HD. I think that starts at the "Classic Silver 200" package and up for The Speed Channel.

Did it take longer online than on the phone to get a wrong answer? LOL:what:

I had to call CS to have them activate Speed and FX in HD, took a good 10 minutes, but CS knew what was going on and what to do and it worked, what I don't like is that I have to belong to a forum to find out what new HD channels come out, because DN don't bother to send E-mails to let their cutomers know about anything.

I had Speed and FX in red on ch 9468 and 9475, now it's all good, I can finally watch Monster Jam and Motorweek in HD.

I can't even chat with DN because I got DN thru Embarq and I can't do jack directly with DN, which sucks.

When they reset my DVR box, all my blocked channels got screwed up, I had to re-do 1/3 of the blocked channels because they randomly go blocked or unblocked all over the channel line-up.

I'm in Las Vegas as well with wonderful Embarq DSL. If you turn off your pop up blocker the chat works with Firefox 8.5 fine.

How do you manage to chat with DN via Embarq?
You go to "my services", "entertainment" then what? all I see from there is info about the packages and receivers, but nothing that shows what I have and no "chat live" option, even though I'm signed in, it shows the phone number to call DN and that's it (866) 304-6820

Found it, thanks, I wish I could break away from Embarq and get the account directly with DN so that I could log-in with DN and see my stuff, upgrade online... is there anyway to break away with Embarq without closing the account an re-opening a new one with DN?

They were red on my guide too, so I tried that Chat option through their website. It also took me about 10-15 minutes, and also had to do a power reset, but they are fine now. :thumbsup:

While I was on the website, I saw something about free Showtime, so I asked the chat tech about it, and I ended up getting Showtime for free for 3 months with no further obligation~ :yippee:

I went into a chat session with a Dish rep to see if any of the new HD channels (other than Logo and Mav) were included in the Absolute HD package. Below is the trascript of the chat. It feels like Y2K all over again as I'm still not sure what happens. Anyone else with Absolute HD getting these new channels?

So what happened after the two hours? I tried a chat session about Speed and FX, just to see their response and I got no where. They just kept saying it was coming later.

I called Dish rep once to ask for a channel that I don't see, she told me to check back in 1 week, but I can hear that she was giggling in the background with her friend. I assume she was trying to go home or whatever the reason was. Basically, they have no customer service at all, zero!
So, anyways, I call back in a few hours and I talk to a different Dish rep, this time she was nice and she said right away and I had the missing channel in the same second.
So, I don't know about you, but I have Dish while trying not to communicate with them if possible. Strange combination, but their management does not care about customer service. I hope they got better since my last talk with them a few years ago.

Hey guys... Just try this to see if it works for you. It cannot hurt anything, so might as well give it a shot~ :yippee:

Just open the front of your DVR (on the 622 its the panel on the right side of the face) and press & hold in the power button for a count of 12-15 (at least 10-12 seconds) then release it. Then give it about another 5-10 minutes to power up & go through it's boot-up sequence.

Hopefully, when you are back up, you will see the missing chanels.

I know that the rep I was on with had ME do it, and they came on for me... :2cents

If you go Dish, avoid the TurboHD packages.. legacy Turbo subscribers presently not getting all the new HD channels flowed to the Classic packages.

This is an email response I just received yesterday from DN:

"We appreciate your email. At this time we don't currently have
additional information to relay regarding the access of newly acquired
HD channels such as FX and Speed to our Turbo customers. Please check
back with us at a later date to check on the status."
