We just got a 46' sony bravia LCD HDTV and we just had dish come out and put a 722K DVR to replace our old receiver dish hooked it up and everything worked well at first now the remote will no longer communicate with DVR . It will work for a little bit then it will no longer communicate with it. We don't understand whats wrong. What is causing this and is there a way to fix it? Thanks!

Do you have anything in front of the DVR? my wooden coffee table blocks the signal once in a while.

Make sure the batteries are not weak. If it works sometimes then the remote address must be correct, or check p. 73 in your User's Guide.
You can also set up remote for TV2 to work on IR only as see if it works for TV1, if it does, then maybe the original remote is defective.
Sometimes things do block the IR path that are not obvious, as JLV pointed out. Bright lights in the room, especially fluorescent, can interfere.

I have noticed a IR problem with the 722k. When I turn off the TV (Samsung LN52B750) the dish remote works fine. If I have the backlight adjustment on the TV too low, the remote stops working. Seems like the IR sensor of the 722k is beiing swamped by exterior IR. The B750 does not suffer from the same IR problems as its predecessor.

This has happened with various LCD TV's for several years.
The backlight is causing IR interference with the remote.
It is a problem with the backlights, not a problem with the remote.
After 30 -40 minutes the problem is usually reduced when the backlight tube is warmed up and stabilized.
Try creating more seperation between the display and the receiver.

My problem may be different. The lower the TV backlight setting causes problems and warmup does not help. All other IR sensors on my other Audio components work ok.

I recently purchased the Samsung LN52B750 to replace my old tv. I started noticing problems with the Dish remote within a couple of days. As mentioned in a previous post, changing the backlighting settings does seem to make it better (in my case watching in standard mode instead of movie mode). However, the solution is to call dish and ask for a UHF remote. They will send a new remote package that includes different "receivers" for the 722k that will not be counfounded by the IR emitted from the Samsung TV. Hope this helps!
