as a former voom customer I have noticed that the Voom picture
quality was so much better than the Dish Network in HD
My guess, it has something to do with the HD tuners they using
I am using 50" pioneer elite Plasma TV and 42" panasonic HD plasma
what do you think?

I was pleasantly surprised when I found that Dish HD was on a par with Voom. With the Voom movie channels it's always hard to tell because it depends upon the clarity of the movie. However, with channels like Equator and Ultra and ESPN, I place the PQ on a par with Voom and with my local HD on the Voom receiver.
I have a Sony 60" LCD rear projection (built in HD receiver) and I receive Dish HD on the 811 receiver.

The variability in movie quality, and even some broadcast venues is to be expected.
I am surprised someone can realize a difference between Dish HD PQ now, and REMEMBER Voom being noticeably better.
If it's true, Voom must have really been something to behold if the difference is so great to defy an A/B comparison in real time.
Maybe some nostaglia tied into that memory.. :)
No knocks to Voom, without them Dish and others might still be feeding us only a handful of channels at 2 bucks a piece.

I am an ex voomer now with Dish. IMO Dish is superior
to Voom in both SD and HD quality.
In one area the Voom receiver is much better than Dish:
namely it will record HD picture to DVD recorder in 16-9
without black bars or any distortion and near HD PQ.
Dish 811 will not.I use the Voom receiver to record
local HD and am obviously well pleased.

The other solution is a Dish PVR receiver which gives you time shifting management (instant pause) as well as record capability all within one unit.
