upscaling to 1080p

I have a Pioneer DV-400V-K DVD player that upscles to 1080p - however it seems to be stuck on showing things in 576 and not upscaling - clearly a setup issue but nothing is mentioned in the operating instructions that came with it. The DVD player output goes to a Panasonic (Viera) 42P-X70A via HDMI. How do I get the DVD player to upscale automatically??

How is it hooked up? HDMI or component?

I don't know about this particular player, but I'd guess you need to change a setting on the DVD player. Probably under something like: video output, picture quality. It could also be as simple as pressing a button on the front or side of the machine. Is there an indicator on the front display which shows your output?

Pages 34-36 of your owners manual explain how to set this up in your initial settings menu. Pioneer website has all the manuals available if you don't have yours. Good Luck!!:banana:

I cant tell any difference on mine when i change it from 480 all the way up to 1080.

The upscalers make the image a little better but as far as changing it to anything over 480 i dont notice the image looking any better or any worse.
