32" Samsung Tube HDTV Crapped Out... Help!

Went to turn the TV on and all of a sudden it's not working. Audio and video don't come on. It makes a clicking sound, seems like it's trying to do something. Anyone have any ideas?:what:

Go buy an LCD, Its well worth the Upgrade..

Your timing for an upgrade was impeccable. My 19 year old 30 inch Toshiba which I THOUGHT was going to live forever has started making raspy audio sounds though the picture is still spectacular.
Now I will fee better tossing the quarter ton monster out and replacing it with my second LCD.
Just to keep the universe in harmony, I think I'll toss it June 12th, the official digital switchover day in the U.S.

it sounds like your power supply has failed or you have a short in your high voltage somewhere (hence the clicks.) Such problems are not worth fixing if indeed they CAN be fixed. Time to toss the old timer out.

I feel your pain, IMHO hold off on taking the advice to pitch this old set and buy a LCD. I too have a Samsung HDTV, mine's a 16x9 (the 30 inch) Tantus) and still love the set. Better blacks and instant response time and a proven technology. And on that point you may be in luck... try calling some of the older TV shops in your area. If they cannot provide the name of a former employee who repaired TVs back when that was a viable alternative then try a request for same on your local CraigsList. Lots of older ham radio guys have the skill to repair these sets as well. And on the bright side there are lots of older sets coming on the market (recycled) with still working power supplies to canabalize should that prove necessary.

I fully expect that my 6 year old (going on seven) Tantus will be satisfying long after my larger "more high tech" and "newer technology" 56 inch model is in the recycle bin.
