Just curious to see if anyone has any feedback on their purchase of a refurbished Vizio (in particular, the VO37LF model)?
I'm looking to buy one, and noticed that I could save at least $130 by buying a refurbished one online (ebay) as opposed to buying a new model from the store (Sam's Club).
thanks!

I would buy new, the warranty is worth 130 bucks

For only $130, I would definately buy new vs. refurb. Many times the savings are much bigger and some "factory refurbs" offer a full 1 year warranty vs just a 90 day.. So depending on the situation, I would always be open to a refurb deal though.

I got mine off buydakota.com for $409. and $39. shipped, i got it the next day the auction ended.
My mom was in Iowa i called her and had her go buy there to pick it up, she got there at 4pm 3 hours after i paypaled the money it was already shipped. I got it 2pm the next day and they got back 5 hours later. Really fast but im just a state away.
Ill tell ya i got nitpicky with my unit and i dont see anything wrong with it. IMO they couldnt get a feature (PIP) to work so they returned it. It just needed a few settings changed in the menu and everything is good to go. They did mention they got alot of calls about the PIP not working so ide say its a common problem with people not being able to turn it on.
I would bet alot of the PIP models that are being sold as refurbs dont have a thing wrong with em. Maybe the ID-10-T user file error. lol :yippee:

Try feeding both inputs a 720p signal...Usually the PIP feature wont accept a 1080i or automatic signal from source #2....only 720p.
give it a try an' I bet you will have PIP.

Where do you live? I got a factory recertified V042LF for $599 and it's wonderful. If you're anywhere close to Anaheim, CA I know a great place to pick up a factory recertified unit for cheap, and then you can extend the warranty through Vizio for pretty cheap if that's a concern for you.

I shouldnt even make the comment because i called them also and wondered the same thing. "did i get the wrong unit my PIP doesnt work"
I got in a rush before reading the manual fully and couldnt turn off the parental controls.
You have to turn them off in the settings AND in the tv section and for some reason my tv icon wouldnt appear. I finaly read the manual it said you have to be on the tv input before tha ticon will appear i was then able to click it and turn off the parental controls and the pip opened up.
Weird why Vizio put it in this part of the menu to lock up the pip feature but thats what they did. It makes me wonder if my 26" i got from walmart had pip because it had pip on the remote but i couldnt get it to work either.

I went ahead on got a refurbished Vizio on ebay for $500 (37") from buydakota.
I guess I'll find out how good it really is when I get it in a few days.

Cool.. Hope it all works out. Did you get any type of warranty with that??
You could of gotten the same TV refurbed at Tiger Direct with a 90 day warranty. Just not a big Ebay fan..

yeah, it came with a 90-day warranty. apparently, that's the norm for refurbished since the manufacturer actually tests each unit before re-releasing them.
the e-bay seller did offer a 1-year warranty for $50, but I declined...
