1080i in europe with ati dongle on WS-32Z308P

Im a total newbie and looking to display 1080i on my new 32" SlimFit Tube from Samsung (WS-32Z308P)

Problem is (_I_ THINK) the signal is only 50 Hz in Europe...

The ATI catalyst only supports 60Hz rez (which is why they only sell the adapter in the US)

I reduced the ATI default of 1080i interlaced @ 30hz
via PowerStrips predefined modes to:
1080i interlaced @ 25Hz (so it is PAL 50)

I do get an image now and the geometry is fine but...
the colors are weird:

The top half is a warmer tone,
the bottom half a rather cool tone.
Further: colors 'change' in the lower half change when opening overlapping windows.

I would really appreciate it if someone who had&solved a similiar problem could give me his pstrip config
OR
If someone advices me to it otherwise - switch to other rez and stuff

[EDIT]
the geometry is ok but still slightly flawed.
The image is formed... like a buble but inwards :P looks kinda like this:

PAL uses a different color model, as well as different timing... you need a PAL oriented card...

as thankful as I am for an answer... I dont believe I need a different card. (Did you read ALL of my post?)

I _DO_ get an image after using pstrip for the correct timings.
So... I belive it works... or should work :)

P.S. If I am wrong, I apologize but id like a reply a tiny bit more detailed.

You're getting unstable start position & distorted color, from a card that's only sold in North America. It's designed to work in a particular band of frequencies. Yours isn't one of them. You are adjusting the card into a state it was never designed to support.

Thanks for good reply. You're giving reasons even!
Anyway, I dont think I have technal limits. I bought the card here...
and the dongly is just a piece of hardware to from dvii to yuv component, no?

The dongly thing tells the graphics card to change modes, and breaks out the signals.

I think what you need to do is ask around on Euro boards which cards (& drivers) support 50 Hz PAL modes...
