burning dvds from video_ts files(what to play them on)

Does anyone know some info on video ts files downloaded off the internet and what to burn them with and watch them on. I have a video_ts file to which i used Toast 9 to burn it with. It runs fine on my iMac which has a BluRay dvd player in it. When I go to play it on my JVC 3-disc standard dvd player in won't read it...it just jumps right past it...please help!!
